Here is a list of facts and figures that pertain to how our library was used in 2010. And the annual value of the community's library use that year? $2,178.278.40. Pretty impressive.

What the library does for our community...

  • 153,922 people visited the library
  • 13,230 people accessed the Internet with library computers
  • 13,078 reference questions were answered
  • 190,186 books, magazines, videos, and audio materials were borrowed from the library
  • 45,986 people visited our website and blog
  • 4,973 items were loaned to Ketchikan-area schools and their students
  • 459 children participated in the Summer Reading club
  • 300 Born To Read bags were given to Ketchikan newborns
  • 829 new library accounts were created
  • 6,647 items were delivered to the home bound and institutionalized residents of Ketchikan
  • 188 hours were volunteered to the library by the members of the Teen Advisory Group
  • 2,802 audio books and ebooks were downloaded for free from the library
  • 5,704 parents and children came to 209 programs held at the library-475 people a month
